Puking...Sleeping...Typing...
So the 25 degree change in temperature from Las Vegas to Denver was wonderful…
The BBQ in Denver was great, and Jen and Jay (our hosts) were also pretty wonderful. We hung out there for quite a while (and some rather naughty things happened) and then went to bed. The next morning was sleeping in and enjoying not having anything to do for a while. Quinn and I cooked breakfast for as many people as we could (which was delicious) and then we watched Ghostbusters. Tough day.
The show was at the Continental Club, which was like a miniature Molly Brown (or Jay’s for my Missoula friends). Right before the show, we ate dinner at this little Mexican restaurant up the street called Santiago’s. This is important, because I spent the rest of the night puking up what I ate at Santiago’s. My memory of the night is a little hazy, but from what I remember it was one of the best nights on tour. Everyone played well, Whiskey Throttle (the local band that set up the show for us) was great, and I managed to play all the way through our set without puking in the bar.
Once we finished playing I went back to the car and tried to go back to sleep until we left. A few more notes from the night:
- Reid managed to vomit in the middle of the bar and go home with a cute rockabilly chick.
- I got a ride home from Jen and Jay and nearly puked inside their fancy SUV. Fuck child locks!
- Jeff almost broke his leg on Cory’s drums.
- We actually got paid.
- Some girl tried to get Kory to join her in the bathroom.
- The guitarist from Whiskey Throttle played headbutts with the bartenders while playing a solo.
After we got back to Jen and Jay’s house, I went directly to bed. Apparently there was some partying that occured after I passed out, but I was miserable and didn’t know.
The next day we took our sweet time taking off for Billings. I managed to basically recover from my misery and we left around four. This meant we got to Billings around 2:30 A.M. Naturally, we went right to sleep at a girl’s house that Quinn knew.
Now we’re finally home and there’s only two more shows before I can do laundry and sleep in my own bed.
