(The last few days were a bit hectic, or there would have been more of these.)

And now we’re in California. There’s heat. Lots of heat.

Monday brought a surprise for us in Oregon. The promised gig at Longshots bar in Bend had not actually been booked. This meant we drove the 300 miles to Bend to apparently look at the scenery. Fortunately, Adam and the Longshots crew were actually incredibly helpful and gave us a show the next night. Since the Medford show was not particularly solid, we decided to simply skip the Medford show and spend some extra time in Bend. There was a reasonably cheap hotel a block from the bar, and we figured we could do some last minute promoting the next day. Skipping ahead, the show had a rather low attendance. We finished our sets, sold a few shirts, and went back to the hotel.

The next day was the long drive to Sacramento…

The show in Sacramento was at a record store (our second one this tour) and actually went rather well. The guy who opened for us (from a band called the Secretions) had some excellent songs and I wish I would have been able to get an album from him. After the show, Jordan (from Final Summation) put us up at his house and I learned a neat new card game.

Yesterday we drove from Sacramento to L.A. The drive felt much shorter than the 450 miles it was. At the end of the drive was a show at the Pizza Factory in Riverside, CA. The show went far better than I expected, and the Pizza Factory ended up being a highlight of the tour so far.

Now, we’re doing our best to stay out of the heat until our show tonight in Corona at the Angel’s Sports Bar. Super Smash Brothers Brawl, water, and AAA dropping by to get our keys out of the car.
